ST. PAUL, Minnesota. May 28, 2024 – Education Minnesota has endorsed Jen Schultz’s campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives from Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District in northeastern Minnesota.
Education Minnesota President Denise Specht said:
“Our union of educators is proud to endorse Jen Schultz for Congress because she has been a fearless defender of the right of working people to come together in union and negotiate for the things families need to thrive – even at a time when corporate interests are using their power to exploit working people and crush their unions. Jen is an educator, a union member and an expert in health care policy. She’s willing to fight for issues Minnesotans care about, like great schools for every student, affordable health care for everyone and protecting our air, land and water so future generations can enjoy northern Minnesota’s great outdoors.”
A committee of local educators from Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District interviewed Schultz, a Democrat, during the endorsement process, which included approval from the political action committees of the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association.
