Representative Convention

The Representative Convention is our highest governing body, with more than 600 elected delegates meeting annually to set policy for the union. We typically mail information to local presidents as part of the Convention Call in late February each year.

The 2022 RC was held April 22-23 at the Saint Paul RiverCentre.

This year’s RC program, proposed action items, Constitution & Bylaws amendments and other documents.

  • Electing and registering delegates
  • Mail ballot election instructions
  • Submitting Constitution & Bylaws and convention rules amendments

The 2022 RC was Friday, April 22 through Saturday, April 23 at the Saint Paul RiverCentre. The convention opens with registration at 3 p.m. on Friday and ends Saturday when all business has concluded.

The RiverCentre is located at 175 Kellogg Blvd. W., St. Paul, MN 55102.

Education Minnesota will provide:

  • One standard hotel room for one night for each local sending at least one delegate. When registering delegates online, the local must identify the designated delegate receiving the Education Minnesota funded hotel room. Room and tax for that room will be added to Education Minnesota’s direct bill so the delegate will not be charged; however, the local or delegate will still be responsible for making the hotel reservation.
  • One round-trip mileage reimbursement per delegate.

All delegates are responsible for securing their own accommodations. Education Minnesota has a obtained a block of rooms at the St. Paul DoubleTree and the Intercontinental Riverfront, both of which are skyway connected to the RiverCentre.

The cutoff date for securing hotel reservations was March 23.
