ST. PAUL, Minnesota. July 22, 2022 – Education Minnesota has endorsed Jeff Ettinger’s campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives from Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District in southern Minnesota.

Education Minnesota President Denise Specht said:

“We are proud to support Jeff Ettinger because he’s willing to do what’s necessary to ensure every child in Minnesota, no matter where they live or what they look like, can get a great education at their neighborhood school. For too long, Congress has failed to pay its share of the cost of providing services to students with special needs, forcing schools to shift money from other priorities. Jeff says he will change that and give our schools the resources they need, freeing up funds to hire more counselors for our students’ mental health and to start addressing the staffing crisis in schools by filling open jobs for teachers and other educators. There are many challenges ahead for public education, but Jeff Ettinger has the commitment and experience to meet them.”

A committee of local educators from Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District interviewed Ettinger, a Democrat, during the endorsement process, which included approval from the political action committees of the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association.
