ST. PAUL, Minnesota. Aug. 6, 2024 – Education Minnesota President Denise Specht congratulated Gov. Tim Walz on Tuesday after Vice President Kamala Harris named him as her running mate.
“Minnesota’s loss is America’s gain,” Specht said. “Tim Walz has been an ally of educators and public education for his whole political career, especially during his time as Minnesota’s governor. His commitment to working people and ability to connect with anyone will shine through during the campaign and persuade all Americans of what labor already knows – Kamala Harris is best the choice for Americans who want to live in a nation where everyone has the freedom to thrive, no matter their gender, what they look like, or ZIP code.”
Specht helped organize a letter signed by more than 25 Minnesota labor leaders in support of choosing Walz to run with Harris.
