What issue are you most looking forward to working on as a Governing Board member?
My passion is focused on attracting and retaining the next generation of educators to ensure every Minnesota child has access to a high quality education.
What is your favorite thing about being an educator?
Connecting with kids to help them see their place in a wider world that is both challenging and wondrous.
Outside of the classroom, what’s something you like to do?
I enjoy traveling, riding my bike, and SCUBA diving when I get the chance.
How have you worked in union to overcome a professional challenge?
My work in union leadership began in my mid 20s when I was a member of the then SPFT (now SPFE) Executive Board. Being a part of a strong union has meant having people back me up when things have been tough for me personally, and now I have the opportunity to give back in my new leadership roles, being apart of our bargaining team, lobbying at the Capitol, and advocating for our members.
