What issue are you most looking forward to working on as a Governing Board member?
I’m most looking forward to supporting locals as they navigate and respond to the challenges posed by recent federal decisions. Our collective power will be critical.
What is your favorite thing about being an educator?
I love empowering kids through stories. Stories are powerful because help us understand complex ideas, build empathy, and inspire action. I get to do all that with really great kids.
Outside of the classroom, what’s something you like to do?
I like to garden and enjoy nature.
How have you worked in union to overcome a professional challenge?
I’m proud of the Pension Action Team’s work in my local. As an action team leader, I was inspired to see so many members get involved in legislative action, including many who had never participated before. Together, our efforts led to meaningful improvements to educator pensions
