Your local contract covers most legal matters in your employment, but we know life often provides challenges where we need legal support for life outside of work.
When should you contact Education Minnesota for legal support?
- Worker’s compensation appeals.
- Long term disability appeals.
- TRA sisability appeals
- Social Security disability appeals.
- Unemployment appeals.
- Immigration issues.
- Defamation by a student, parent, administrator or school district.
- Employment matters not automatically covered by the legal services policy.
- Temporary/harassment restraining order related to work.
- Criminal matters arising out of work.

Union Plus legal services
- Contact for any issues not listed above or that exist within your CBA.
- 30-minute initial consult with an expert that specializes in your area of need.

AFT trauma counseling
- Incident-based coverage from a licensed clinician.
- Up to 21 free sessions – does not interact with your insurance.
