AFT professional development opportunities
The American Federation of Teachers has changed its professional development program to better meet your needs and make courses more accessible. Check out the opportunities below!
Professional Development Program for Educators
The AFT Professional Development Program offers 45-hour graduate-level courses, three-hour modules, webinars, technology tools and more to appeal to all educators.
Summer Educator Academy
The AFT Summer Educator Academy helps local unions build the capacity to deliver high-quality professional development services to all educators -- teachers, paraprofessionals and school-related personnel.
The academy focused on three areas last year: 1) Common Core resource kit training modules in English language arts, math and instructional supports; 2) Share My Lesson and AFT-Professional Development Online; and 3) professional learning subcommittees to guide future professional development efforts.
This year's academy date has not yet been set.
