Starting a conversation

Here are a few questions to use as a starting point with administration on the topic of concurrent enrollment. These questions mirror the beginning of talks between the Mounds View Education Association and that school district about the issue.

1.  Has your district compiled a list of current dual/concurrent enrollment teachers and researched how far each of them is from the 18 credits required to keep teaching?

2.  Are all stakeholders (school board, district administration, union, instructors currently teaching courses) familiar with the Higher Learning Commission's concurrent enrollment credentialing changes and the current reality for those instructors wanting to continue teaching the courses in the future?
 
3. How does the school district plan to support instructors in getting credentialed in order to continue offering students a broad range of opportunities that they deserve?
