ST. PAUL, Minn. Feb. 22, 2016 – The state's graduation rate continued to slowly improve in 2015, according to data released Monday.
Education Minnesota President Denise Specht released the following statement in response:
"The E-12 educators of Minnesota strive to ensure all students graduate from high school on time and prepared for the next step in their education," Specht said. "The data released today shows we're making steady progress, but our state is still failing to give all its students the support they need to graduate from high school on time."
"We wish more students were graduating on time, especially students of color, but we're confident Minnesota will continue to see steady improvement for years to come," Specht said. "That growth will be the payoff on the investments we make today in early childhood education, including all-day, every day kindergarten and universal access to high-quality preschool."
