ST. PAUL, Minn. (April 7, 2016) – The budget targets released Thursday by the House majority call for no net increase in the state's investment in Minnesota's students, despite a $900 million budget surplus.

Education Minnesota President Denise Specht released the following statement in response:

"The budget targets show the priorities of the House majority," Specht said. "They are putting tax cuts for corporations and wealthy individuals ahead of investments that would reduce opportunity gaps and make meaningful improvements in the lives of Minnesota's students and their families."
