ST. PAUL, Minnesota, June 24, 2020 – The COVID-19 pandemic and school closures that have come along with it has threatened the economic security of tens of thousands of school employees and child care workers, many who are women and people of color.

That’s why Education Minnesota, its foundation, ISAIAH’s Kids Count On Us Coalition and SEIU Local 284 have launched a fund to help school workers, child care workers and educators who have been economically impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.

The goal is to raise $600,000 to help 1,000 workers stay afloat during this difficult time. These school workers and caregivers don’t get the respect they deserve during good times. And they are the first to lose pay and face layoffs during a crisis.
