ST. PAUL, Minnesota. March 26, 2018 – The following is a statement from Education Minnesota President Denise Specht on the Minnesota Senate's unanimous approval Monday of a bill that adjusts public employee pension plans. 

"Thousands of public employees in Minnesota work hard year after year to earn a reliable, sustainable pension. This bill ensures current and future generations will have a secure retirement.  

"I want to thank Sen. Julie Rosen, Rep. Tim O'Driscoll, Sen. Sandy Pappas and Gov. Mark Dayton for their leadership on this important issue, and I look forward to watching this bill progress quickly through the House."
