Do you have education debt? Want to do something about it?
Education Minnesota’s Degrees, Not Debt program is rallying public support to decrease the cost of college and make it easier and cheaper to pay student loan debt.
We know that student loan debt makes life hard for many young educators, driving some away from teaching. Many see the cost of college as a barrier to getting into the profession in the first place. These challenges weaken the diversity and depth of our teaching corps.
We want to make sure you, as an educator, know about existing student loan forgiveness programs, how to find out if you're eligible and how to apply for them.
Our Degrees, Not Debt training is now available on our online professional development platform, LearnUpon, as a self-guided training.
Once you log into your LearnUpon account, search the catalog for Degrees, Not Debt: Self-guided training. Information on accessing LearnUpon was sent to all members on July 1. If you need access to LearnUpon:
- Check your email (inbox, spam/junk) for a message from "Education Minnesota Online PD Team" (firstname.lastname@example.org) that was sent on July 1. If you can locate that email – that is your ticket into the platform. Click on the link in the email to finish setting up your account.
- If you are unable to locate the original message, send an email to email@example.com (this is a different email than the one above). We have a team of staff who monitor that inbox and will send you a new invitation within the next day or so.
